Description: Presented by: Michael Milczarek, Tzung-mow (Mike) Yao, Murray Brooker and Dan Weber, GeoSystems Analysis Inc. Lithium brine mining via groundwater extraction accounts for the majority of the world’s lithium production. Lithium concentrations can be highly variable across a lithium deposit and host aquifers typically consist of highly heterogenous layered sediments. Consequently, brine mineral resource estimation requires supporting data from both field and laboratory testing programs to estimate the lithium concentrations associated with various lithologies. The speakers will discuss a new rapid brine release test based on a modified standard method to determine specific yield characteristics of core samples collected during exploration drilling. This method has been used to determine specific yield characteristics on hundreds of samples from several different brine deposits in North and South America. Case studies will be presented during the webinar.
